An Awesome Halloween!

Halloween has always been  a big celebration for our family. It is my Dad's birthday so growing up we had a lot of traditions. Of course I have continued these with my family. We always have  homemade chili and I make our favorite sugar cookies. It's even more fun now that I have the help from the girls. Not much dressing up this year but Madeline went to school and parties as a nerd and Vanessa didn't dress up. We don't get trick or treaters either so we provide our own each year in the entry way. I love this holiday and want to say Happy Belated Birthday to my dad!

YES on Prop 8!

What a great opportunity it has been for us to get political. Standing out there for PROP 8 has been an awesome experience. It feels good to know we can make a difference just by sharing our views and standing for something. It's so important for the family that YES on PROP
8 passes. It will keep marriage between a man and a woman, which is what God intended. YES on  PROP 8. Get out there and vote on Tuesday, it's important for us to get involved in our country's  political process.

The Lichtenberg's Visit

This last week my good friend Martha and her kids came to California for a wedding. We were lucky to have them stay at our house for the week. We had so much fun and her kids have grown up so much and are beautiful girls and Matt such a handsome boy. We went out to lunch, shopping at the mall, lunch at Alex's work ,and of course a day at Disneyland, the happiest place on earth. It was so much fun and made me miss them being so close. Madeline and Lauren were so glad to see each other, and they are planning to go college together. We love the Lichtenbergs, and were glad they wanted to stay with us. Thanks for coming we miss you already!

The Office

His lovely office before

The mess!

Doesn't it look so nice?

Now you can actually see the chair!

My husband has a beautiful office and over the past few years it has become a junk room for all unwanted things. We have a beautiful leather chair and ottoman, and the room has beautiful wood work. The other day some important papers were lost in this room of things, I couldn't stand it any longer and decided it would be my friday project. I kept it a secret from Scott, one to surprise him and ,two he HATES me to touch the stuff in case there is something "important" among the piles of junk.  If you know me these are the projects that I get excited about. Organizing and cleaning out rooms , closets, or anything is what I really enjoy. Its what the kids and I did on school breaks when they were young, I think they have fun doing this too? It took me 2 full days and I had so much fun, after Scott got over the fact that he could find everything and I threw out very little he was gratful, I actually found him sitting at the desk today paying a bill. He never really spent much time in there in the last few years. I have a list of the other places in my house to be cleaned out and every friday thats what I will be doing.

Never to old to learn

Today I learned something new, I was playing with my blog and changed the color. Wow I was so impressed that I decided it was worth sharing. I hope to get better with all of this because I have so many friends and family that live away. This is such a fun way to keep in touch and when my friends find my blog they may want to make one too. I am so glad that my girls helped me do this. What a great time to be alive and I am just grateful for all the things in my life that bring me so much happiness. So maybe next time I can add a photo, who knows, I just keep learnig.
